I believe that personal training truly can make getting and
staying fit a pleasure. I specialize in Baby Boomer Fitness and
Senior Fitness/Fall Prevention. I will help you focus on getting
stronger, no matter what your current fitness level. It doesn't
matter what size you are, but rather how well you can do what is
important to you in your life! I can help you strengthen your core
muscles to improve overall stability and stamina. You will
experience stronger muscles, improved stamina, flexibility, and
balance, and increased coordination for your daily tasks.

Philosophy on Life and Exercise
Congratulations on Giving Time for Yourself!
Taking care of ourselves is not easy to do in our world, but it is probably one
of the most important aspects of our
lives. If we don't have a strong and healthy body,
the rest of our life becomes more and more difficult as we get
older. The steps you are now
taking to take back control of your life,
your exercise and your diet, will be the basis
for
the new ground
you will walk on from now! Making changes is not easy,
and it is not
done quickly. In fact, the more
time you allow yourself to
really get to know the
new healthy routine of living that includes
exercising and a healthy
diet, the easier time
you will have incorporating
the new changes as a permanent part of your life, both emotionally
and physically. Congratulate yourself for taking the first steps towards
a new and healthy life!!
Thoughts on Aging and Playing
As we age, our bones and muscles can weaken, but it's not directly
due to aging! It is because we
largely ignore
our physical selves,
due to our sedentary life. Our bodies are designed to be active and
strong, but when we are
inactive, our muscles atrophy and that in
turn allows our bones to weaken. Osteoporosis literally means porous
bones. Weight bearing resistance exercises are the only way
to strengthen the muscles and bones
and can prevent and in some cases even reverse osteoporosis.
As women, we are taught from an early age that having strong muscles is not feminine, and that we should leave the
heavy lifting to the men in our world.
So we learn not to use what we are born with, and pretty soon the muscles
weaken, and then we aren't physically able to use them any more.
In addition, our office jobs and the television and the computer and
video games are other main activities in our world that keep us
inactive most of the day. It takes a lot of will power to
get up and move more often, but it is well worth it!
When we are children we play very naturally in our bodies, enjoying the
movement of being alive!
My desire is to
help people bring that joy
back into their lives,
as we re-learn to use and enjoy our bodies. It's never too late!
